For a couple of years at Ravinia School, and then at Edgewood, we were best friends.  "Jimmie" was a terrific athlete and a very sensitive and smart youngster.  I carry  very fond memories of our times together playing various sports and trading information about the history of American Indians which he knew quite well.  I have not spoken to him in decades but I am really stunned and saddened to hear about his passing.

Jim and I played a lot of basketball together.  We played on "Mikes Shoes" for 3 years in HP.  Then 2 years up in Highwood as well, for "Werhane".  We won some titles together.  My fondest memory thhough, is watching one of  the greatest basketball games ever with him.  Houston vs. UCLA, Elvin Hayes vs. Lew Alcindor.  Basketball was hardly televised at all back then, much less college ball.  We watched it on a little black and white TV at my house, and it was on late too.  Did not get much more fun than that!!
